About

I'm building Petra, a tool for international pet travel documentation.

My dog Bhaloo and I lived as nomads for six years. Every clinic needed the same information but asked for it in a different order, usually across long email and text threads.

The requirements are genuinely hard. Microchip and rabies records must follow the correct sequence, timing windows may be anchored to arrival rather than departure, and USDA endorsement has its own scheduling constraints. Most of that coordination lands on people who already have a full day.

With Petra, owners complete a structured intake once. Petra organizes it into a single case file and flags gaps against requirements verified from official sources. The clinic receives an organized file instead of an email thread, and the veterinarian retains clinical judgment and final sign-off.

Before Petra, I spent 22 years building software, data platforms, and engineering organizations. Most recently, I was CTO at Amberdata through the company's sale, where I led its SOC 2 Type II program and operated a 2.5-petabyte data platform at 99.99% uptime. Previously, I was VP of Engineering at Voyager, founding CTO at Simba building for the US immigrant community, and delivered Marcus.com for Goldman Sachs.

I'm a Swiss and US citizen based in Miami Beach.

If you run a clinic and want to try Petra on a real travel case, email me at stefan@petraverify.id.
